Julie leads The Application Masters team, personally communicates with all clients, and edits most of their documents. Julie is also an award-winning, Emmy-nominated TV news anchor/reporter, writing stories on tight deadlines every day for a local audience of thousands upon thousands and sometimes a national audience of millions. She currently is a news reporter for NBC at its Dallas-Fort Worth, TX TV station. She also has appeared on such networks as FOX, CNN, ABC, MSNBC, CourtTV (now truTV), The Weather Channel, XM Satellite radio, and hundreds of local TV and radio stations around the U.S.
Julie knows what college admissions officers are looking for in an application. Her academic profile and college application essay are published in The Princeton Review’s book College Essays That Made a Difference (2003), including more than 80 students who were accepted to elite U.S. universities. Julie was accepted to her first-choice college, Rice University. Since graduating with a B.A. in Economics, Julie has interviewed high school seniors as part of their application to Rice, represented the university at college fairs, and served as the Kentucky captain for Rice Alumni Volunteers for Admission. She has years of experience working with high school students. She has tutored students in various subjects, from English to chemistry to calculus. While working at the Houston-based test prep company Test Masters Educational Services, she wrote SAT solution explanations.
And Julie certainly mastered the basics of writing early on. Back in high school, she scored a perfect 800 on the PSAT Writing section and was a 3-time Texas spelling bee champion among private and parochial schools. Julie is fluent in four languages.
